An Overview of the Course
What will you do on this course?
On this two year course you cover the theory and skills related to all aspects of ladies hairdressing including shampooing/conditioning, consultation, cutting, colouring and perming, styling and dressing hair.
Further study and career progression
It is highly recommended that you progress to the Level 3 Diploma to further develop and advance your skills.
Special features
- You will train in our commercial hair salon and, as you progress, you will have opportunities to work with paying clients while supported and supervised.
- Trips to national exhibitions and trade shows are a feature on this course.
- You will participate in our annual industry day and attend talks and presentations from representatives from the hairdressing industry.
- You will be encouraged to compete in a range of local and national competitions and you will have the opportunity to show off your skills during the annual End of Year Showcase.

Jobs in the hairdressing business are on the decline with a 0.9% decrease in employment predicted by 2026. The number of jobs in hairdressing in the UK has also decreased by roughly 2,000.
